Happy Thanksgiving
Illnesses at TA
Please be careful around older relatives during Thanksgiving if family members are sick. We have many illnesses circulating in the Upper Valley right now.
PNEUMONIA
• Pneumonia is still circulating in the community, if your student has a cough and a fever please call their pediatrician.
HEAD COLD
• There is a head cold going around with a lot of congestion & a cough. Rest & fluids help.
STOMACH VIRUS
• We have a 24-48 hour stomach bug at TA. It is causing vomiting & diarrhea.
STREP THROAT
• With strep throat students usually don’t have a cough or a lot of congestion. They usually have a bad sore throat, swollen lymph nodes and sometimes a fever.
**If you wonder if it’s strep throat, have them see the doctor for a strep test, we have more sore throats this week. **
COVID
• No new cases this week.
• Test kits are available in the Health Office or test kits are also available through the US Postal service link to Covid test kit order form
Illness prevention tips: Early bed, 3 meals/day, staying hydrated, hand washing, cover sneezes & coughs. PLEASE don’t share water bottles or food.
Parents/Guardians
Please remember when students have a fever of 100.0 or greater, they need to be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school. Many thanks.
Teachers, please be aware some students are out several days with pneumonia or they are recovering from one illness and pick up a second illness. Please allow flexibility/forgiveness with making up work.
