• Spanish Teacher

Thetford Academy is hiring a half-time Spanish teacher to join the school’s World Languages department, which includes instruction in both Spanish and French. The position will include teaching beginner and intermediate levels of Spanish to middle school and high school students. TA’s language program emphasizes spoken language skills, written proficiency, and cultural knowledge and understanding. Experience with a standards-based approach to language curriculum and instruction is a plus.

• Counseling Office Team Coordinator

The counseling team coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the department, supporting TA’s three school counselors in providing services to TA’s 300 students in grades 7 through 12. It is a half-time staff position, 20 hours/week during the school year. Strong candidates will demonstrate organizational expertise; attention to detail; relational skills; and a customer service orientation to working with students, colleagues, parents, and external audiences such as college admissions representatives. Bachelor’s degree preferred. This position is scheduled to begin in August with the start of the 2021-2022 academic year, with training sessions over the summer.

• School Nurse

Thetford Academy is hiring a school nurse. The school nurse at TA plays a central role in the life of the school, overseeing efforts to promote and teach wellness and maintain a healthy environment for teaching and learning. The school nurse provides direct care to students in cases of illness and injury and is also responsible for working with students and families when individual health plans are needed for successful schooling. The position is .8 FTE and will begin in August 2021.

• Part-Time Science Teacher

Thetford Academy will be hiring a part-time science educator for the second semester of the school year, January-June 2022, to teach 9th grade conceptual physical sciences. Competitive candidates will possess prior experience teaching laboratory-based science and strong background knowledge of chemistry, physics, and astronomy.

• Human Resources & Benefits Administrator

TA’s business department seeks a qualified candidate with expertise in HR and benefits administration. The position is part-time (.4 FTE). Hiring goal is June 2021, but the timeline is flexible. This position is responsible for all aspects of payroll and benefit administration including the orientation of new employees to benefit programs, educating and enrolling existing employees in benefit programs, assisting with counseling in matters related to human resources, and maintaining detailed records of employee insurance information. Candidates for this position must be knowledgeable about human resources law, have excellent communication skills, and have prior experience in benefit administration.
