International Student Application Process

As Thetford Academy’s International Student Program is intentionally small, admission is competitive. Thetford Academy seeks students who are highly motivated to live and learn in the United States.

International student applicants must present academic credentials that provide clear evidence that they are capable of being successful in a competitive college-bound curriculum and are ready to live independently from their families and country. We look for students who have demonstrated a clear desire to live and learn about other people and who are ready to share their customs and culture with people from other countries.

Applying to Thetford Academy

As a first step in the application process, parents of interested students must create a user account for TA’s enrollment management system. Once a parent has registered as a user, families will be able to work with their students to complete an online application, submit teacher references, test scores and school transcripts, and track application progress toward enrollment at Thetford Academy.

Applications should be submitted as soon after November 1 as possible. Admission decisions are made on a rolling basis.

What You Will Need

When applying to Thetford Academy as an international student, you will need to provide the following information and documentation. These items are included in the online application process and most can be submitted digitally via TA’s enrollment management portal.

  • individual and family photographs (2-4 photos)
  • physical examination report (completed by family physician)
  • family financial statement
  • recommendation from a mathematics instructor
  • recommendation from an English instructor
  • recommendation from a school principal, Head, or counselor
  • official school transcripts
  • TOEFL, iTEP SLATE, DuoLingo English, or IELTS test results
  • copy of passport information
