Tuition and Financial Aid

Thetford Academy enrolls students in grades 7-12. We are the designated middle and high school for the town of Thetford, VT, and a school of choice for students in a wide range of Upper Valley sending towns.

VT/NH Town Tuitioning Program

A “sending town” is defined as a Vermont or New Hampshire town without its own public school for one or more grades K-12. These towns pay tuition from the town education budget to send their students to a wide variety of approved public or independent schools.

Thetford, VT and Lyme, NH have articulated designation and/or partnership agreements with Thetford Academy. Visit the Vermont Agency of Education website for the complete list of Vermont school districts who tuition out one or more grades.

Thetford Academy also offers a private pay option for families who do not live in an approved sending town. For families seeking financial assistance with tuition fees, the Academy offers a limited amount need-based scholarship support each year.

Tuition

Thetford Academy’s tuition for the 2023-2024 year is $22,430.

Private Pay and Scholarship Options

Families of students new to TA who wish to apply for scholarship assistance must complete Thetford Academy’s application for admission by March 1 and the FAST financial aid application by March 30. Families of currently enrolled students must submit a FAST application annually by March 30 as part of the scholarship renewal process. Applicants will be notified of scholarship decisions by April 15.

All private pay students are eligible to apply for scholarship assistance each year, provided they remain in good academic standing and there is no significant change in their family’s financial situation. Read Thetford Academy’s complete scholarship policy.
