The Thetford Historical Society (THS) and the Thetford Semiquincentennial Committee (SQC) are excited to present “The History of Thetford and its Historians” this Sunday, March 15 at 3 p.m. in Thetford Academy’s Martha Jane Rich Theater.

In this engaging and informative talk, THS Director Martha Howard and former Thetford Academy history teacher Steve Niederhauser take a deep dive into the history of Thetford and share rarely seen photos of the town and its residents in times past. They will pay special attention to the town’s historians from the 20th century, the townspeople who were integral in preserving and recording our history for future generations.

This event is part of a lecture series hosted by the Thetford SQC in honor of 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the formation of the United States of America, and is supported with a grant from the Vermont Arts Council, which receives support in part from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency, and the State of Vermont 250th Anniversary Celebration Commission

“The History of Thetford and its Historians” lecture is free and open to the public.
