Letter to Seniors: Deb Sanders Dame
May 18, 2020
Dear TA Class of 2020:
This is the time of year when we would be discussing where you are heading and what your summer plans are but of course we are not able to do that in the traditional manner. It is also when we, teachers, hear that you are surprised at how fast it went or that you start to show your nerves for what is ahead. The changes coming your way deserve both your excitement, reflection and nerves.
If you asked people around you about their high school graduation they probably do not have lots of specifics to share. Who was the speaker, how long was it, what time of day are all questions so many might not remember the answer to but you will always remember yours. Every year the senior class works to make a memorable graduation, you have it hand delivered. I know it is not the one you would have created for yourself but you are a resilient crew and will make the best of it.
You each have gotten a foundation for you to build on, choose your building materials wisely, experiment with the options and find what makes you feel safe and wonderful. Be kind to others and enjoy the ride. I hope to see you back on campus in the future to tell us how things are going. We wish you the best.
Panthers Always!
Dr. Sanders Dame
