International Student Program

Each year, Thetford Academy’s International Student Program (ISP) enrolls up to 10 international students in our academic program. While studying at TA, ISP students have access to a wide range of academic, athletic, and social opportunities in our community and beyond.

Thetford is an historic New England town that looks out over the mountains of the Connecticut River Valley. Located 15 minutes north of Hanover, NH and Dartmouth College, TA students have the best of both worlds: living in a small, tight-knit community–within easy driving distance to a vibrant Ivy League college town.

Our program offers students the opportunity to study English as part of their TA curriculum. Students enrolled at TA may also apply to take college-level classes at Dartmouth College and apply those credits toward their graduation requirements.

Homestay families welcome international students into their homes and support them throughout their stay in Vermont. Each student is treated as a family member, often building connections that last long after the homestay has ended.

Homestay Program

TA’s international students live with American families who are committed to sharing their lives with students from abroad. Living with a local family is the best way for international students to become immersed in American language and culture.

Tuition and Fees

Tuition and fees for the International Student Program at Thetford Academy cover the cost of attendance as a day student, room and board with a homestay family, and an international student program fee.

Apply

As a first step in the application process, parents of interested students must create a user account for TA’s enrollment management system.
