Campout in the TOP Yurt on March 16

The Thetford Outdoor Program (TOP) is hosting a campout in our new yurt Friday, March 16, through Saturday, March 17. The yurt is located at the top of Sunset/Sunrise Hill in the Thetford Hill State Park, adjacent to and a ten-minute walk from the school’s main campus.

Activities will start after classes on Friday and all students must be picked up at 10 a.m. at Thetford Academy on Saturday.

An ideal location for camping, the yurt has a new wood stove that will insure everyone stays warm overnight. Students will cook dinner over the fire, play outdoor games, stargaze, and tell stories. Students will sleep inside the yurt.

We ask that students bring their own sleeping bag, pad, flashlight, water bottle and appropriate clothing. Sleeping bags are available to borrow by request. Dinner and breakfast will be provided.

If you or your student are interested in attending this fun event, please email TOP Coordinator Scott Ellis.
