Panther Girls Head to Barre Auditorium for Semifinals

The No. 2 seed TA varsity girls basketball team soundly defeated a talented White River Valley High School team on Friday, March 1, to win the VPA Division III quarterfinals. While the final score of 64-32 points to a decisive Panther victory, White River Valley, a young team with only one senior, played a strong first half and continued to fight hard through the fourth quarter.

The TA girls, now 18-2 for the season, will go to the Barre Auditorium on Thursday, March 7, to face No. 3 seed Windsor in the D-III semifinals, in a rematch of last year’s state championship game.

In Friday’s quarterfinal game, Emily Vaughan had 23 points, Casey MacVeagh had 10, and Kiana Johnson, pictured above, had eight.
