Self Care Resources for Remote TA, volume 1
March 20, 2020
Dear TA Students, Families, and Staff,
As we’ve embarked upon Remote TA this week, we know that there is stress in the transition. The Student Support Team will be sending out emails weekly with resources and tips for stress relief and self-care, which is more important than ever as we’re navigating this uncharted territory!
Please remember that we are here to help you with any learning needs or questions you have, and your counselors are available to check in if you’re feeling stress, anxiety, or other tough emotions. Don’t hesitate to email us and schedule a time to talk or video chat. We’re here.
Here are some resources to help you take care of yourself. We’ll be in touch regularly with more!
Meditation and Mindfulness Apps:
- Calm
- Headspace
- Insight Timer
- Stop, Think, Breathe

Self-Care Suggestions for times you’re feeling anxiety:
- Play with a pet
- Research shows playing with or petting a pet can slow your heart rate and breathing.
- Reach out to your school counselor
- It’s ok to say, “Help, I’m freaking out/feeling stressed/super anxious.”
- Color or Doodle
- Express yourself. Coloring is meditative.
Be well,
The TA Counselors & Student Support Team
