Panthers Defend State Titles with Double Championship Win

On Saturday, May 29, the Panthers Track and Field teams headed to Windsor for the Division III State Meet to defend their 2019 state championship titles. With the cancellation of the 2020 season and the cancellation of indoor track this winter due to Covid, the team hopes were pinned on a strong performance in 2021. The Panthers did not disappoint. According to the Valley News, it was a “track and field sweep-peat for the girls and boys of Thetford Academy.”

The boys racked up three individual wins – all from TA senior Knute Linehan who led the field in the triple jump, long jump, and high jump events – and had strong, point-scoring performances in most other events. The girls won the 4×800 by nearly 15 seconds, won the 4 x 400, and scored points in 15 of the 16 other events. For full details on individual and team performances, visit the Valley News round-up. Congratulations to the Panthers, Div. III State Champions for 2021!
