Head of School Weekly Email: The Final Stretch

Dear TA Families,

We are in the final stretch of the school year! I know there is a lot of information to keep track of at this time of year. Thank you for taking the time to keep up with school messages, and please reach out if you have any questions.

Division III State Competitions – Tomorrow 6/4

Check out the following details from A.D. Blendon Salls: Thetford Academy varsity baseball will host Green Mountain at 11AM on Saturday (6/4) for the next round in the playoffs. Meanwhile, the varsity track and field team heads to their State Meet at Windsor High School, at 10AM on Saturday (6/4). Note: both of these events have had time changes; these are the accurate start times. Come out and support our Panthers tomorrow whether it’s at the baseball game on campus or at the meet in Windsor!

Special Schedule – Week of June 6

Please review the schedule for the final exams and projects week, June 6-10. The week starts with a regular full day of classes on Monday, and then shifts to special half day schedules for the rest of the week. Tuesday and Wednesday are exam days, Thursday is a make-up day with optional/as-needed attendance, and Friday is our Class Day program for the last day of school. Buses will run everyday. Link to schedule document.

TA Summer Programs (and Registration Deadline!)

Looking ahead to summer, check out the TA Summer Challenge middle school and high school programs, offered July 5-15. The deadline to register for Summer Challenge is June 15. Additionally, there is still room in a couple of the TOP summer experiences, including the middle school garden camp, August 1-5.

Covid & Mask Status Updates

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation last week with the temporary return to an indoor mask mandate. We felt like the regional and local case count warranted this move. Fortunately, as we reported earlier today in this week’s health update, there was only one case of covid reported among the TA community this week. Additionally, Orange, Windsor, and Grantham counties all recently returned to the ‘medium’ ranking by the CDC. We returned to mask optional status on Tuesday and will stay with that approach for the remainder of the school year.

Celebrating the Class of 2022 – Graduation, June 10

We are pleased to be able to return to the tradition of inviting the whole community to graduation this year. Graduation will take place on the front lawn of the white building at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 10. (Rain location will be the Vaughan Alumni Gymnasium with limited seating.) Additional events honoring the seniors start this weekend with Baccalaureate on June 5 and then Class Day on June 10; we have sent senior parents details about both of these events. Please reach out to Siobhan or Gloria with any questions.

Good luck to all of our student athletes competing in state competitions tomorrow!
