Track Team Sweeps VT Div III State Championships

The Vermont Division III Track & Field Championships were held in Windsor on Saturday, June 4, and both the boys and the girls defended their state championships with dominant victories. In track and field, the top six finishers in each event score points. Both the boys and girls scored points in all but two of the eighteen events. It was truly a team effort.

We will miss our 9 seniors next year! Manager Maria Rossi; Macey Smith; Elliott Jones; Alex Kim; Madison Powers; Mason LeFevre; Gus Byrne; and lastly, captains Kiran Black, one of the best hurdlers in TA history, and Tobin Durham, one TA’s all-time best distance runners. Both will compete at the college level.

TA’s season is not over quite yet. Seven athletes will be competing in the New England Championships in Connecticut this coming weekend and six will test their stamina and versatility at the Vermont Decathlon at Burlington High School next week.
