TA Music Department to Present Winter Concert TONIGHT

Tonight (December 8) at 6:30 p.m., Thetford Academy’s talented student musicians will take the stage to present TA’s annual winter concert. The concert will feature performances by instrumental music classes, choral music class, and the Stage Band ensemble.

TA’s instrumental students, led by instrumental music teacher Whit Van Meter, will perform a mix of R&B and classic rock–including songs by Wilson Pickett, Fleetwood Mac, and Stevie Wonder, among others.

A trio of choral music students, led by new drama and choral teacher Jeff Seabaugh, will present a fall/winter themed collection of songs. Students will perform arrangements of Van Morrison’s Moondance, an updated arrangement of My Favorite Things from The Sound of Music, and a contemporary reflective piece titled Snow on Snow. Rounding out the evening, the chorus will sing a jazzy arrangement of the song Snow from the classic film, White Christmas

TA’s Stage Band will close the evening with a mix of R&B, Jazz, Afro-Cuban, and even a taste of modern classical music from the likes of Aretha Franklin, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Tito Puente, Igor Stravinsky, and The Pointer Sisters.

The winter concert is free and open to the public, we invite all community members to join us for a fun evening of musical performance.
