Good Gravy! Bluegrass this Sunday at TA
June 21, 2023
This Sunday, from 6-8pm (weather-depending), Thetford Academy is excited to present Good Gravy, the first event in TA’s new “Schoolhouse Rocks” concert series. Good Gravy, a bluegrass band hailing from Burlington, VT features the trio Joe Agnello, Jeff Wilson, and Jack Vignone. The band pays homage to bluegrass legends such as Tony Rice, Norman Blake, and Doc Watson. With great music and food from VinDogs and Tug Mountain Pizza, the concert series opener will be fun for the whole family.
On July 15th at 5pm, the Western Terrestrials will follow with their own hard-driving take on country music. Fronted by Thetford Academy alum Nick Charyk ’04, the Western Terrestrials conjure up “sweeping panoramas of dusty astral plains and the allure of whiskey-laden honky tonks, Western Terrestrials are the kind of wry, unconventional outsiders country music could get used to.” Food provided by VinDogs and Tug Mountain Pizza.
TA will close the series with a journey back in time. On Thursday, August 17th at 5pm, Lazer Dad will take the stage. “Journey back to a time when the music was dope, the girls were fly, and the fashion was fresher than the Prince of Bel Air.” Lazer Dad is a 90s tribute band that “serves up a shot of nostalgia straight from the heart,” by six nerdy nineties kids who grew up to be musicians. Food TBA.
