Well, that went by fast – it’s already playoff time for the Panthers! Our middle school track and field team wrapped up last week at the Connecticut Valley Championship and the VT State Championship. Shout out to Peter Horan, Danny Lloyd, Asa Williams, and Emmeline Saint-Fleur for their outstanding meet performances and to the whole team for a great season.

High school track and field will compete at the Division 3 State Championships in Burlington on Thursday. Last week at the Essex Invitational, the Panthers qualified 12 athletes for New Englands, set six school records, five Division 3 state records, two all-division records, and senior Uly Junker-Boyce earned “athlete of the meet” – a first for TA. With performances like this, the Panthers are well-positioned heading into States.

In softball, the Panthers wrapped up regular season 11-3 and are seeded third as they head into the playoffs. The Panthers have had a lot to celebrate already, with senior McKayla Stanley marking 300 strikeouts, and senior Rebecca Osgood hitting milestones of 100 runs and 100 RBIs this year. Osgood signed to play with St. Joseph’s College next year. On Friday, the Panthers will take on the winner of tonight’s Burlington/Winooski vs. Woodstock game, time TBD.

Finally, our baseball team finished regular season 12-2 and are seeded second in Division 3. This year the Panthers welcomed new leadership, with Kris Keelty taking the helm as head coach. Keelty, a veteran of the game who served as assistant coach for the Hartford Hurricanes for the last two decades, has been a great fit for the Panthers, leading them through another strong season. The team looks poised to make another run at the state title – their last championship win was in 2023. First up: the Panthers take on the winner of Vergennes vs. Paine Mountain on Saturday (time TBD). Stay tuned for updates and Go Panthers!
