TA Represents at Statewide Student Leadership Conference

A team of five Thetford Academy student-athletes attended the VPA Student Leadership Conference in Burlington on November 10-11. Also in attendance were TA’s Athletic Director Bri Barnes, who was one of the organizers, and Coach AJ Darling.

On Monday the students attended peer-led workshops about student support and recognition, student engagement, and mental health, and a keynote presentation on the importance of building belonging in every space by VPA Assistant Executive Director, Dr. Lauren Young. Tuesday provided time for the TA team to work on their own action plan of what they want to bring back to the Thetford Academy school community.

The students who participated are all members of TA’s Student Athletic Leadership Team, a group that meets weekly during club time and focuses on ways to help improve the athletic community at TA. In attendance were Natalie Snider ‘27, Ruth Brooks ‘28, Jay Hill ‘28, Ollie Emery ‘27, and Matthew McGovern ‘27.
