Head of School Weekly Email: Appreciations, Report Cards & 4th Quarter Dates

Dear TA Families,
Greetings on this lovely first day of spring break! I think I can speak for all of us at school, student and adult alike, in expressing appreciation for the pause in school routines. What a perfect week to enjoy the warmer days and ready ourselves for the final (7 weeks!) sprint to June 12.

Teacher Appreciation Week
There is much to appreciate at this time of year. In early May, we invite you to join the school community in thanking the amazing team of TA educators for the hard and important work they do all year long. May 4-8 is national Teacher Appreciation Week. You can show your gratitude through food, flowers, or words. Sign up to be a part of the special daily lunch offering; if cooking isn’t your thing, there are other roles to play. We are also recruiting an organizing wizard or two to oversee the volunteer effort – please let me know if you are interested or would like more details.

The other way to participate in Teacher Appreciation Week is to share a message of gratitude. Fill out the form (link below) and we will deliver the notes to staff.

Quarter 3 Report Cards
Report cards were officially released on Monday, April 13 – they can be found in Alma and were also sent to parent and student email addresses via Alma. Report cards at the mid-semester point are an important marker of progress and growth and can serve as a guide for the fourth quarter. (One exception is middle school electives, which rotate at the quarter.) Please reach out to teachers if you have questions about grades and connect with your student’s counselor if you have bigger questions about academic performance or graduation pathways. Course registration for 2026-27 will take place in May.

Year-End Schedule of Events
Quarter 4 is a busy time of year. This one-pager is designed to give families an overview of important dates and special events. Seniors especially have lots to keep track of. Please connect with Gloria in the front office if you have any questions: [email protected].

Featured photos: Three groups took their TA adventures on the road this  week. On Saturday 4/11 an intrepid science olympiad team went to Dartmouth to compete for the first time and came home with a third place trophy. The same day the high school chorus headed to Castleton for the statewide arts advocacy concert hosted by Senator Bernie Sanders each spring. On Wednesday the 8th graders and a team of teachers journeyed north across the border for the annual 3-day middle school trip to Montreal. And a closing note of appreciation for the blooming daffodils on campus and all of the care Joe Saragusa and John Brown put into our grounds each day.

Happy Spring Break!
