Woodworking Competition Shows TA Students’ Skill

On Friday, May 12, 2019, several Thetford Academy Design Technology students joined more than 70 students from across the region to compete in the Guild of New Hampshire Woodworkers student woodworking competition.

TA’s students showed off the skills they’d honed in class with Chris Schmidt, TA’s Design Technology teacher and master woodworker. Several students earned top placements in their competition categories: In the Bowls division, Liam Rinelli took first place, Nathaniel Rinelli earned third, and fourth place went to Logan Brinkman. In the Spindles division, senior Aiden Cudhea earned second place and Alex Emerson took third. Emma Thorburn ’20, Jaime Harkins ’19, and Caleb MacNeil ’21 also competed.

Design Technology students will be showcasing their work at Thetford Academy’s Arts Night this Thursday evening starting at 5:30 p.m.
