Open Your Home to an International Student
May 23, 2019
The International Student Program at Thetford Academy brings a diversity of cultures and viewpoints to our little corner of the world. Over the eight years of the program’s existence, we have welcomed 27 students from 11 far-flung regions of China as well as from Switzerland, Greece, Rwanda, and Korea!
This program has allowed our community to participate in a global exchange of ideas, and we are looking for host families to help us continue this tradition for the 2019-2020 school year.
What is required? A willingness to support an international student socially, emotionally and academically in a safe and welcoming living and learning environment for a period of 10 months (one school year). Students range in age from 15 to 18 years old and Thetford Academy provides a generous monthly stipend to defray living expenses.
If you’re not able to host for an entire school year, we’re always in need of short-term homestays throughout the year.
To find out more about this enriching opportunity, visit the Homestay Page on our web site or reach out directly to Diana Garcia-Lavigne, TA’s International Student Program Director, at [email protected].
We look forward to hearing from you!
