Dear Thetford Class of 2020,
I will keep this letter short and sweet, but please know that I could go on and on…like my lectures in class or my US History tests 😉
When I left TA, I thought I knew what the future held for me. I had taken lots of science classes at TA, and even got to take calculus at Dartmouth, before heading off to college. Therefore, I knew I was going to be a biochemistry major and enter the medical field, hopefully as an anesthesiologist. Yup. That was the plan. Look at me now! After my first full year of science lab courses and math in college, I needed something different. So, I detoured far from what was safe, what I knew and had experienced, and took four courses my sophomore fall that I knew NOTHING about. One of which was economics. And in the words of the great Mr. Frost, that, my friends, has made all the difference.
As you go out into the world, take hold of these next few years in front of you. You are young, you are capable, you are brave and the world is yours for the taking. Take smart risks, try new things, expand your horizons beyond what you even knew existed. Thetford Academy is not just a stepping stone to your future, it is a piece of your story that you can rely on. Regardless of where you go and what you do, we will always be here to support you.
Wishing you all the VERY best of luck. I am so excited to see what the future holds for each of you!
Congratulations!!
Stacy Thurston Barton
