Final report cards for the school year were mailed to students’ homes the week of June 22, with the following cover letter included.

Dear Thetford Academy Parents and Families,

Sunsets are stretching until 8:30 these days and the fireflies are out after dark. Summer has officially begun! 

I imagine all of us are welcoming changes in our routines this season, as we take a break from an intense period of remote learning. Thank you again for your key role during 4^th quarter to support your TA student(s). The school-family partnership was more critical than ever to keep students engaged and motivated. We know it was not always easy, and we appreciate your effort and sacrifice on the home front.

Enclosed with this letter, you will find the following documents:

• Final 2019-2020 report card for your TA student(s)
• The key dates list for 2020-2021

At TA, our focus has turned to looking ahead to next school year and planning for the various possibilities and contingencies that the fall will bring. The Vermont Agency of Education recently issued its initial guidance* on June 17, which we are working closely with. Our TA Safety Committee is meeting regularly on this issue. We have multiple faculty planning sessions taking place this month. Look for student and parent surveys to be distributed soon for your opportunity to provide input as well. 

We will share periodic updates with families throughout the summer regarding our plans for TA for the fall semester. Please understand that the pandemic and the guidance are evolving and dynamic; as a result, our plans will need to be responsive and adaptable and, therefore, likely to change over time. We will all need to do our best to be prepared, flexible and resilient – like we were challenged to be this spring.
