Graduation 2020 – An Overview of Events

On June 12, and June 13, Thetford Academy will celebrate the graduating class of 2020 with both virtual and in-person commencement events. TA has modified its end-of-year ceremonies to prioritize the health and safety of our students and families, while striving to stay true to the spirit of the school’s traditions and to joyously celebrate the senior class.
Graduation events on Friday, June 12 will include a virtual ceremony at 5:30 p.m. featuring student commencement speeches and performances, available for public viewing on Facebook and YouTube. Next will be a community celebration of our graduates. Starting on campus Friday evening at 7:30 p.m., graduating students will participate in a commencement car parade that will wind through the town of Thetford. Families, community members, faculty, alumni, and neighbors are invited to line up along the route to cheer for TA’s Class of 2020.
On Saturday, June 13, the graduation festivities will culminate with individual diploma ceremonies on the Thetford Academy campus. Students will accept their diplomas from Head of School Carrie Brennan on the school quad. Each family will be able to watch and cheer as their student is recognized for their achievements and receives their diploma.
TA will host its traditional Class Day and Awards Assembly as a pre-recorded event airing on Friday, June 12 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Facebook and YouTube. The program will feature the Class of 2020 in skits, speeches, the sharing of each senior’s “last will and testament,” and announcement of school and scholarship awards. Students in younger grades will be honored with a host of awards as well.
