AFS-USA Seeking Host Families for International Students Attending TA

Did you know that Thetford Academy has two Italian students enrolled this year through the AFS-USA program? In order to continue this successful partnership in the upcoming school year, AFS-USA is seeking host families for high school exchange students who would be attending Thetford Academy in 2022/23. Most students will arrive around August 10, 2022. Students may stay for one year or one semester.

Hosting is a great opportunity to share the best America has to offer. If you have children in your household (it’s not a requirement), it’s also the perfect way to introduce them to other cultures. As a host family, you would provide a bed, an area to study, three meals a day, and a loving home in which you treat your exchange student as you would your own children. Students have their own health insurance, bring their own spending money and are ready to share their year with you.

There are no “typical” host families.  Families can have children at home, be empty nesters, parents without children, single adults, and same sex couples of any race or ethnicity.

You can follow this link to Meet the Students. Simply enter your zip code to see students who are anxious to become a part of your family.
