TA News

Dear TA Families,

Autumn is in the air today as we wrap up our fourth week of the school year. A variety of classes have spent time outdoors in recent weeks with hands-on learning and projects taking place around campus. Middle schoolers especially have been outside with their electives and science classes, working in the garden and tending to the school compost. We are looking forward to having the whole school head out to nearby mountains for our annual Mountain Day tradition next Friday.

College Info Night for Seniors – 9/21

The counseling department will host an online event for the class of 2023 and their families on Wednesday, 9/21 from 6:00-7:30pm. The program will focus on navigating the college application process, collaboration with the TA counseling office, standardized tests, financial aid and scholarships, and more. (Students and parents in other grades are welcome to attend as well, although the program is geared toward seniors.) This is also the season for college rep visits to TA. Students in grades 11 and 12 (and their parents) receive updates regularly on these visits. Brandeis, Regis, Northeastern, Southern Maine, Landmark, and more – these are some of the colleges scheduled to visit this month. For more information about the college info night, college rep visits, or other counseling events, contact Tippi Oshoniyi, TA’s new counseling team coordinator, [email protected].

Mountain Day – 9/23

Mountain Day plans are coming together, including transportation. Look for updates from the planning committee early next week. Students must have a permission from in order to participate. Parents: If you have not yet submitted the Mtn Day permission form, please do so this weekend. Homecoming – 9/24

The community is invited to homecoming soccer games next Saturday on the upper field. The boys game is at 10am and the girls will play at 12:30pm. Senior parents will have the concession stand fired up. Come out to cheer on the panthers, sporting your favorite TA gear. And help us spread the word – especially to TA alums – so we can bring out a crowd!

Best of luck to our bass fishing team who will participate in the VPA Classic tomorrow in South Hero, VT.
