Thetford Academy to Host Flynn Theater’s Playing Fields Project

Thetford Academy is excited to join forces with the Flynn Theater to host The Playing Fields Project, a back-to-school celebration that travels to school districts around Vermont. The project invites communities to gather together for joyful and awe-inspiring performances on school fields. Everyone is invited to join the fun!
The event at TA will feature two high energy, family-friendly performances, including a spectacular circus performance from Cirque Kikasse and music from the West Philadelphia Orchestra. The Flynn describes Cirque Kikasse’s performance of SANTÉ! as “a dynamic circus show with high-level acrobatics, contagious energy and breathtaking balances … All on their extraordinary food truck!”
Inspired by the Romani brass “orkestars” and “fanfares” of Eastern Europe, the West Philadelphia Orchestra is known for stellar musicianship and dynamic live shows. The band’s sound is vibrant, powerful and extremely danceable, and includes a wide-range of music, including traditional Balkan music, klezmer music rooted in Philadelphia’s klezmer tradition, New Orleans brass and 60s free jazz, in addition to punk, soul, hip hop frevo and ska.
The Playing Fields Project at Thetford Academy is free and open to the public. Show starts at 6pm, we hope to see you there!
