TA Alums Rock Hungary in Music Exchange Program

Tuck’s Rock Dojo, the Etna music school founded by Thetford Academy alum Tuck Stocking ’96 and his wife Kata Sasvari, has long been a part of the Upper Valley scene. Tuck’s students can be found rocking the Norwich Fair, performing at Lebanon’s NEXUS Music and Art Festival, and showcasing their talent at other UV locales throughout the year. This summer, though, six Rock Dojo students had the opportunity to take their show on the road – to a new scene in Eger, Hungary.

The trip was part of an international music exchange between the Dojo and the Hungarian music school Egri Farkus Ferenc Zeneiskola. Dojo students, including recent Thetford Academy graduate Andre Whiteberg ’25, stayed with the families of the Hungarian students during the trip. Sasvari shared a movie by one of the host family members, Benjamin Katona, that captured their adventures on film. Katona’s movie, Sasvari says, “not only chronicles their performances and travels, but also highlights the friendships and cultural exchanges that made this trip unforgettable.”

While in Hungary, the Dojo’s band played rock shows at three local venues and made a special appearance at a drum festival. They brought a little Vermont with them when they covered Grace Potter’s “The Lion, the Beat and the Beast,” and inspired audiences with their talent and energy. “This tour marked a milestone for Tuck’s Rock Dojo,” said Sasvari, “opening doors to new experiences and inspiring the young musicians to dream bigger. Their journey proves that with passion and determination, music can truly bridge worlds.” Read more about the experience in Tuck’s Rock Dojo’s newsletter.
