Head of School Weekly Email: Serving the Community

Dear TA Families,

‘In service to our community’ is the theme of the week. Parents modeled this each day by investing time and effort into making Teacher Appreciation Week a success. We thank you! Meanwhile, students jumped into action today with our annual ODW Service Day – and last Friday too, with advisories and classes participating in the statewide Green Up Day.

All of this service for the community required incredible effort from the community. Thanks to everyone involved for making it all happen. ODW student organizers and their faculty advisors, ODW community employers, Green Up Day organizers on campus and in the community, student workers, parent volunteers, and all of our TA staff!

In the spirit of contributing to community, we invite families to participate in our springtime Day of Giving to support Thetford Academy’s annual fundraising on Thursday, May 14. Look for info coming your way from Director of Advancement Patty McIlvaine (and be sure to check out the fun Woods Trail theme!). We have two goals each year with Day of Giving: dollars to raise and, equally important, the number of donors who participate. Every gift level makes a difference!

Upcoming event reminders:

  • Day of Giving, May 14
  • Roundtable Day, May 15 (with dismissal at 12:10pm)
  • Spring Musical, May 15-17 (4 performances)
  • High School Registration Session for Class of 2030, May 20, 6pm
  • Memorial Day, May 25 (no school)

In community,

Carrie Brennan, Head of School
