October Student of the Month: Skyra Coulter

October’s Student of the Month for the 2017-2018 school year is an outstanding junior who demonstrates TA’s core values every day. Skyra Coulter is a pleasure with whom to share a classroom. She is creative, serious, and kind-hearted. Skyra is a true scholar who has high expectations of herself, as well as lofty goals – one of which is to travel the world.
She will be well-served in those travels by her innate curiosity. She works hard to understand why and how the world is as it is, and how it can be better. She consistently produces thoughtful work, and makes great contributions to class discussions that challenge her classmates and teacher to think about things differently.
Skyra finds humor and joy in the most surprising places. And when she does, beware, as she is sure to unleash her trademark laugh, which always and without fail, brings a smile to those around her! Her writing can do the same. It makes people smile, but at the same time, can launch a variety of other emotions as well. It’s what good writers do.
Her determination to understand, coupled with her willingness to revise her work until it reflects her best thinking, make Skyra very deserving of this recognition. Congratulations to Skyra Coulter, our October Student of the Month.
