Senior Jake Colby Reaches 1000 Point Milestone in Basketball

Jake Colby began the Thetford Academy – Montpelier home varsity basketball game on Saturday, Dec. 22, determined to reach his 1000th point. Coming into the game with 990 combined career points for Chelsea High School (grades 9-11) and Thetford Academy (grade 12), he was ready to get the milestone done and over with … and with four fouls and approximately five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Jake made a short jump shot from just outside of the key, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

While the Panthers lost the game by the score of 55-46, the game will go down into the history books as one to remember, as Jake joined a small group of Thetford Academy standout athletes from the past five decades in the 1000 point club. Congratulations, Jake!
