Spring Sports Season Brings Panther Pride

With less than one month left in the 2021-2022 school year, the Panthers are giving it their all. TA’s spring sports–baseball, softball, and track and field–are back after last year’s Covid-caused pause. It’s clear the Panthers were ready and excited to return to their teams and events and make up for lost time.

In baseball, the Varsity boys have had a strong season. Following last night’s win versus Division II team U-32, they stand at 8-3 and second overall in Division III VPA rankings. This weekend, the boys will travel to take on Oxbow (Saturday, May 22 @ 11 a.m.), a team they defeated 15-6 in their last match-up.

In softball, the Girls have a new lineup and have been working hard on their game. So far, its been a mixed season, with a 2-4 record, but with every practice and every game, the Girls are advancing their individual and team play. After a solid win v. Twin Valley last week (26-14) and a close game v. White River Valley’s undefeated Wildcats (6-8), the Panthers are looking strong as they head into Saturday’s home game v. Proctor (11 a.m. @ TA).

TA’s Division III track and field team has had a banner season, with several Panther athletes smashing school records in their individual events. The Panther Boys and Girls teams swept both of their meets at Windsor this season, and another on May 4 in Springfield. The Panthers will send a partial team to the “last chance” meet at Windsor on Friday before they compete in the State Meet on May 29 (also at Windsor).
