Head of School Weekly Email: Remote Day, Donation Drives, Winter Concert & More

Dear TA Families,

This week’s email includes equal parts information, gratitude, and invitations to give during this holiday season. Please read on!

Remote TA Day on Wednesday, Dec. 15

As I first announced in an email in late November, TA will have a special remote schedule on Dec. 15 to serve as a student and teacher academic work day without regular classes in session. The idea for this day was generated from both student and teacher input as a way to support the school community through the challenges of this fall and to allow focused time before going into winter break to prepare for the final stretch of the semester. Buses will not run on December 15. A take-home lunch will be provided on the day before for those who sign up. Students will prep for the remote day in advisory on Monday and will each develop a schedule and set of goals for themselves for the remote day, using this planning doc as a basic outline: Link.

Holiday Donation Drives

Student groups are sponsoring donation efforts to help those in need in the Upper Valley this season. Please contribute to TA’s Winter Gear Drive and Holiday Food Drive by bringing items to contribute next week. Thanks to Ms. Rose’s 7th grade advisory and to the Class of 2023 for sponsoring these efforts.

Frozen Meals are Warming Hearts!

A huge thanks from all of us at TA to everyone who has prepared take-home meals for teachers and school staff. What a lovely idea to support educators during this busy time of year. I have received numerous notes to share – here’s one that well represents the collective sentiment: “Thank you so much for this awesome and delicious idea! It was so helpful to have one less meal to prepare this week. We realize that although we are busy, so are the people making the meals – so thank you for taking the extra time for us!”

Performing Arts Events

  • The winter concert is Wednesday 12/15 at 7:00 p.m. in the Vaughan Alumni Gymnasium. The high school stage band and middle school chorus students will be performing. Attendees need to RSVP using this form.
  • The One Act Play Club will hold auditions on January 5 from 3:00-4:00 p.m. for the spring performance. Those interested need to request audition materials from Mr. Chapin at [email protected] or connect with Gretta Koppers, class of 2022, for more details.

Class of 2022 Fundraiser

Bring a little cash to school next week and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate ($1) and a cookie ($1) during power hour. Each day will feature a different type of cookie. Help the seniors raise funds for prom and other springtime activities for their class.

There is so much happening during this busy time before break. Thank you for keeping up and staying connected!
