UVTPC Awards Grant Funding for Summer Garden Camp

With spring in the air, the Thetford Outdoor Program (TOP) is gearing up for another successful growing season in TA’s school garden. One of TOP’s newest Summer Leadership opportunities, the middle school Garden Camp, aims to engage our youngest students in place-based, outdoor learning with a week-long experience in the school garden. Led by TA’s resident farmer Ehrin Lingeman, students in the program will work and learn in TA’s school garden and spend time visiting nearby farms.

TA was recently awarded a mini grant from Vital Communities’s Upper Valley Teaching Place Collaborative to support this new offering, allowing TA to reduce the overall cost of Garden Camp for interested students. The grant will help TOP achieve its mission to make outdoor and experiential learning affordable and accessible for all.
