Volunteer at the Historic Thetford Hill Fair
July 21, 2022
The first Thetford Hill Fair was held in 1913 and if you’re new to Thetford, it’s a must-experience event. It’s an old country fair, a tea party, rummage sale, plant and book sale, and neighborhood get-together. Neighbor Liz Ryan Cole wrote about the fair in Sidenote last year, “Our good cause is to raise money to provide care and management of the Thetford Hill Common. Our goal is to bring people together to enjoy themselves, to renew old friendships and make new ones.”
This year, the fair will be held on July 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Steve Hennig (banjo) and Mike Wood (guitar) will provide a soundtrack, and the Vermont Institute of Natural Science will be there with a bird and reptile presentation. Vershire’s Dragon Mountain Kung Fu Kids will demonstrate their craft with “punches, kicks, swords and sticks.” All are welcome and encouraged to attend this community event next Saturday.
And if you want to lend a hand, the Fair is still looking for volunteers to support the event. Contact Greg Kasten at [email protected] to support your community and be part of the Thetford Hill Fair.
