Social Justice in Action Class to Host Community Closet

Students in TA’s Social Justice in Action class will host a “Community Closet Swap and Shop” event on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at the Thetford Community Center. The event will feature live music, a bake sale, and a fun opportunity to clean your closet to help others. Students invite all members of the community to join the event by bringing your gently used clothing to donate or swap – all clothing will be free and no donations are required for those who want to simply shop!

Throughout the semester, the Social Justice in Action class has been exploring a wide range of social justice issues from economic inequality to gender discrimination, from hunger and food insecurity to gun violence. They aim to be a voice for change, helping to reduce inequality, advance equity, and build stronger communities.

For more information about the Community Closet Swap and Shop, contact Maddy Thaxton ’24 or Acadia Cook ’24. We hope to see you in the new year for this fun community event! All proceeds from the Swap and Shop will be donated to a local charitable organization. Full details below.
