Celebrating the Class of 2024 – Baccalaureate, Class Day, and Graduation

It’s time to celebrate! This week, TA’s Class of 2024 is winding down their high school career with full days of classes before final exams. On Sunday, June 9, the class will commence celebrating their achievements with Thetford Academy’s annual baccalaureate ceremony, hosted in the Martha Jane Rich Theater. The ceremony will include speeches from students Cecilia Luce, Iris Morand, and Mary Bosco, with a musical presentation from Saylor Billiau. Dawn Phelps, TA’s Food Service Manager, was selected by students to make the baccalaureate address.

On Friday, June 14, Thetford Academy will have Class Day and its 205th commencement. The 57 members of the Class of 2024 will start their graduation day in the gym with the whole school community for the TA tradition of Class Day. Class Day begins with underclassmen awards and honors, followed by the seniors’ presentation of their “Last Will and Testaments” and a slideshow of their time together at TA.

The second part of the morning will be held on the front lawn, weather permitting. Faculty, staff, and community members will announce Senior Awards and Scholarships, many of which have been awarded to TA graduates for generations. Carrie Brennan, Head of School, will share some remarks before the ceremony closes with a choral performance of the alma mater, “Thetford, We Revere Thee.” Parents and community members are welcome to join Class Day.

Graduation ceremonies will begin at 6:30 on the front lawn of the White Building. Per TA tradition, the ceremony will feature solely student remarks and musical presentations. For a full schedule of the day’s events, see below.
