This weekend, TA students gave audiences a rollicking performance of the iconic musical Grease. If you were lucky enough to get a ticket to one of the four sold-out shows, you were treated to a joyful trip to Rydell High, complete with leather jackets, poodle skirts, and all the drama of high school in the 1950s.

The show featured two casts, swapping out the lead roles of Danny Zuko (Simon Swingforth | Aiden Otterman), Sandy Dombrowski (Alivia Smith | Julia Bonnett), Rizzo (Willow Slayton | Grace Brown), Marty (Jillian Fein | Lola Squire) , Jan (Londyn Oshoniyi | Logan Wells), Frenchy (Natalie Lewis | Twyla Weinstein), and Patty Simcox (Plover Corbett |Natalie Perry). Each cast brought their own spin to the iconic characters, complemented by a deep bench of supporting actors who delighted audiences with their comedic chops and total commitment.

The tech here, too, deserves a shoutout – not only for the outstanding costume and set design, but also for the creative use of projection that transported us through time to scenes from the decade – a drive thru, WAXX radio, a diner, and more. For each musical performance, a TA-branded Grease vinyl record was cued up to play on the digital screen. This kind of attention to detail was a hallmark of the production and a delight to the audience.
