Celebrating the Class of 2026 – Graduation Week

Thetford Academy’s Class of 2026 is winding down their high school career with a series of milestones and celebrations – baccalaureate, final exams, class day – all leading up to graduation Friday evening.

Sunday’s baccalaureate ceremony included a welcome speech by Class President Grace Brown and poetry readings by Henley Cook and Tommy Amber, and featured the annual faculty address by Social Studies Teacher Betsy Pond, who was selected by the class. In her speech, she related to the students as fellow Thetford Academy (soon-to-be) alumni, shared her story of leaving and returning to Vermont, and emphasized the importance of valuing one’s home, having a sense of place, and practicing gratitude.

On Friday, June 12, Thetford Academy will celebrate Class Day and the school’s 207th commencement. The members of the Class of 2026 start their graduation day in the gym alongside the whole school community. The Class Day program features underclass awards and honors, the seniors’ presentation of their “Last Will and Testament”, the senior slideshow, and senior awards and scholarships.

Friday evening, graduation ceremonies begin at 6:30 on the front lawn of the White Building. Per TA tradition, the ceremony will feature student speeches and performances.

Schedule:

  • Awards Assembly for Grades 7–11, 8:30 a.m.
  • Senior Class Day, 9:45 a.m. (senior families invited to attend)
