Arts Students Work Together to Support Thetford Food Shelf
November 13, 2019
This holiday season, TA students will participate once more in the international “Empty Bowls” event, selling hand-crafted bowls and homemade soup and bread at the annual TAAA Craft Bazaar. Empty Bowls is a global grassroots movement, led by artists and crafts people in cities and towns around the world and aimed at supporting food-related charitable organizations.
This year, the Culinary Arts and Ceramics classes teamed up in TA’s art studio to create a colorful array of bowls for the project. In the coming weeks, the Culinary Arts classes will finish the project by making many gallons of soup and loaves of bread to sell with the bowls. All of the proceeds from their work will be donated to the Thetford Food Shelf. To purchase the students’ bowls and soup, visit their table at the Holiday Craft Bazaar on Saturday, November 23 in the Vaughan Alumni Gymnasium.
