TA Student Supports COVID-19 Response
March 30, 2020
Thetford Academy senior Morgan Busby has always had a passion for caring for others. In her junior year at TA, Morgan enrolled at River Bend Career and Technical Center‘s (RBCTC) Health Sciences program to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. By the end of her junior year, she had earned her license to be an LNA (Licensed Nursing Assistant) and began working at Kendal at Hanover.
This year, as a TA senior, Morgan has continued to work at Kendal in her time outside of school. And since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, she has been asked to learn on the fly, adapt, and float to all areas of need. She’s taken on extra hours, odd and overnight hours, and double shifts. According to her mother Christine Busby, “Morgan has taken this role very seriously and comes home tired, but fulfilled and empowered that she–at her age–is able to help and make a difference.”
Morgan says that this experience has only solidified her desire to become a nurse. She has been accepted into nursing programs at several colleges and plans to make her decision soon.
