Alumni and Community Support Helps TA Meet “Day of Giving” Goal
June 01, 2022
On Friday, May 27, Thetford Academy began its 5th annual “Day of Giving” event with two challenges – and $15,000 – from the Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation on the table. Each year, TA hosts the digital Day of Giving as a celebration of both community and philanthropy.
This year’s theme “Honor the Past, Create the Future,” highlighted TA’s longstanding traditions like Mountain Day and Founders’ Day, as well as the school’s historic commitment to experiential and outdoor learning, the arts, and providing diverse opportunities to our students.
The challenge from the Byrne Foundation was to reach 100 donors to TA (for a $10,000 match), with 50 of those from alumni (for $5,000). By 10 p.m. on Friday evening, broad community engagement enabled TA to reach both goals. With some donations in the mail, final results are pending, but to date more than 110 donors and 53 alumni participated in the Day of Giving this year!
Philanthropy helps Thetford Academy fulfill our mission “to celebrate the unique worth of all students, nurture their strengths, and challenge them to fulfill their potential.” The generosity of parent, alumni, faculty, and community donors supports our faculty, our academic and extracurricular offerings, and helps TA meet the evolving needs of each generation of students.
We are so grateful for the generous support of our school community and are excited to create the future of TA together. Thank you so much for your support for Thetford Academy on the Day of Giving – and every day.
