Head of School Weekly Email: Balancing the Silly and the Serious

Dear TA Families,

The end of the school year is a big balancing act between celebration and rigor, and sometimes the silly and the serious. We had our fair share of silly today, as we arrived at school this morning and found the quad crowded with tents and the interior of the white building blanketed in sticky notes. The seniors were busy with pranks over the past 24 hours!

We will shift to serious with the baccalaureate ceremony for the Class of 2024 on Sunday evening – a time for the almost-graduates and their families to come together to reflect on their high school years and prepare for graduation at the end of the week.

Speaking of graduation, everyone is invited to attend this larger community celebration on Friday, June 14, 6:30pm. We will be on the front lawn in fair weather and the Vaughan Alumni Gymnasium if rain or thunder require it.

As we prepare for the final days of school, we ask families to work with students at home to gather up and organize all TA materials to return – textbooks, novels, calculators, laptops, chargers, etc. Also, I am sharing again next week’s special schedule for June 10-14: LINK. Please note that Tuesday through Friday are half days.

Best of luck to all of our varsity athletes – the softball team starting their playoff game as I write. The boys baseball team competes at home tomorrow at 11am. And, the track and field athletes who made it to New Englands travel to UNH tomorrow!

Thank you for supporting students in this final stretch – and all that it entails, including the hard work and challenges, the stress and emotions, and hopefully the fun and celebratory too.

Carrie Brennan, Head of School
