Thetford Academy Drama Department to Present One Act Play “RUE” by Mandy Conner

The Thetford Academy Drama Department will present the one act play, RUE, by Mandy Conner. This production is part of the Vermont State Drama Council’s One Act Festival. Thetford Academy is proud to host schools from around the state for one of the regional festivals on March 22.    

Deep in a Louisiana swamp, sixteen-year-old Josephine struggles with intense anxiety following the mysterious disappearance of her parents. She refuses to leave the safety of her home and face the outside world, even as it becomes increasingly dangerous for her to stay in the marshland. Against the wishes of her brother and best friend, Jo turns to the dark inhabitants of the swamp for answers. But is she brave enough to face the truth about her family—and herself?

The cast includes: Grace Brown, Hanae Debo, Jillian Fein, Luke Kidd, Piper Leibon, Natalie Lewis, Preston Perkins, Nico Roya, Lorelei St. Martin, Ramona Spelman, Jake Wakefield.   Lighting, Costume, and Set Design by Hugo Billiau and the company of Rue.  Sound Board Operator: Maggie Mikovitz.  Stage Manager; Jillian Fein.  

Public Performances take place at Thetford Academy in the Martha Jane Rich Theater
