Track and Field Athletes Compete at New Englands, Sebastian Perdrizet Champion in Triple Jump

Several athletes from Thetford Academy’s track and field team traveled to Berwick, Maine on Saturday for the New England Track & Field Charmpionship. Julia Bonnett, Londyn Oshoniyi, Ollie Emery, Matthew McGovern, Zac Amber, Jay Hill, Connor Sloop, Emmett Terry, and Sebastian Perdrizet competed against the best high school track and field athletes from across New England. They had a series of strong performances and added a couple of new entries on the school record board.

In one of the first events of the day, Julia Bonnett threw the javelin 94′ 5″, which is the second best throw in school history and was more than five feet better than her previous best.

In the triple jump, Sebastian Perdrizet reset his all-time Vermont state record with a jump of 47′ 9.5″. It was the best triple jump on the day, making Sebastian the New England champion in the triple jump. He becomes the second TA athlete to ever win an outdoor New England championship.
