TA Students Honored for Excellence in AVA Gallery Art Show

On Friday, Feb. 16, the opening reception and awards ceremony for the 10th annual Best of the Upper Valley High School Exhibition was held at AVA Gallery in Lebanon, NH. Sixteen schools with over 145 students participated in an incredible display of artistic talent. Juror for the show was Patrick Dunfey, Head of Exhibitions Design and Planning at the Hood Museum of Art.
Ten TA art students have work displayed in the show. We are very proud to announce that six of those students received awards for their work.
The award winners are:
Hannah Young, Best in Drawing (figures, ink drawing)
Jacob Slaughter, Best in Printmaking (pine cones, woodcut)
Carley Malloy, Best Environmental Message ( dolphin, wire sculpture; pictured below)
Megan Graber, Honorable Mention, Portraiture (Colored pencil portrait)
Leah Kaliski, Honorable Mention, Black & White ( Needlepoint )
Artemis Tangalidou, Honorable Mention, Black & White (cat pencil drawing)
Also exhibiting and showing strong, diverse work:
Grace Clement (room interior, acrylic painting)
Meaggie Balch (birds, printmaking)
Ella Farrell-Starr (spraypainted stencil painting)
Eleanor Koppers (self portrait, digital mixed media)
