Cross Country
At the Panthers’ home meet on Sept. 11, the boys team won handily with a score of 28. Owen Deffner placed 2nd, Jacob Slaughter 3rd, Eamon Deffner 4th, and Bel Spelman came in 6th. Second place went to Brattleboro with a score of 47.
The top finishers for the girls were Eloise Silver-Van Meter in 5th, Layla Hannisian in 9th, and Anabel Reining coming in 17th. The girls look forward to scoring as a team – they are waiting for some runners to complete the full 10 practices.
Our Middle School team, comprised of Grade 6 through 8 runners from TA, TES, Lyme, and Crossroads, also put in terrific performances at the Sept. 11 meet, with a 6th place individual finishers in both the boys and girls races. Sixth grader Oliver G even put one in the record books. His 11:07 finish was the fastest ever time for a 6th grader running for the MS team on the TA course.
The MS runners put in another strong performance at Hartford’s new course on the 18th, with the girls securing a top team finish and individually placing 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th. The boys secured an 8th and a 10th place finish.
Soccer
On Tuesday, the Varsity Girls lost 3-1 to Montpelier. Emma Berard made 10 saves, while Becca Wells scored on a Casey MacVeagh assist.
On Monday, the Varsity Boys lost 4-2 to Lakes Region. William Bugg had a goal and an assist, with Ethan Steingas also scoring.
The JV girls celebrated a 3-0 victory on Thursday over White River Valley with Goals by Autumn Horniak, Chloe Benjamin and Taylor Farrell.
The JV boys ended Monday’s Lakes Region game in a 4-4 tie, with Liam Curtis scoring 4 goals.
The Middle School team secured two victories this week. Monday’s 3-0 win over Hartford was made possible with goals from Aiden Keene, Addie Cadwell, and Nolan Davis. Wednesday’s 4-0 win over Strafford included two goals from Aiden Keene, one from Nolan Davis, and one from Asa Kelleher.
