Latham Library (on the Thetford Hill Green on Library Road, just down the street from Thetford Academy) is hosting a presentation for young people with Dean Whitlock on Thursday, Dec. 7, at 6:30 p.m. Dean, who lives in Thetford, has just published his sixth book, Finn's Clock. This middle grade novel is a historical fantasy set in a time when steam is threatening sail, factories are displacing workers, and the immigrants are Irish – unwanted and under threat, but determined to make their place here. It’s 1853, and into Boston Harbor sails a sea-going Chinese junk, bearing magic, mysteries, and a firebrand named...

The 7th annual Mr. TA Pageant will take place in the Martha Jane Rich Theater on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 7 p.m. If you are unfamiliar with the Pageant, which originated with Kelly Welsh's 2011 world history class, it is a beauty pageant spoof that features 12 TA students in choreographed dances showing off their greatest (and sometimes silliest) talents. Over the past six years, TA...

Representing classes from 1984 up through 2017, this group of Panthers put on quite the show. The high energy game, officiated by Coach Mark Weigel and Casey Huling '92, remained close for the full 40 minutes, with neither team leading by more than 8 points at any time. At the end of regulation the contest was tied at 75, thanks to a buzzer-beating 3-pointer by Andrew Cawley '13. In the first overtime period, things stayed close, and again ended knotted...
