Pride Month Statement
Thetford Academy would like to recognize June as LGBTQIA+ Pride month and celebrate the diverse community we have on campus. We recognize the beauty and value in creating an educational space where students of any background or identity can succeed and grow to their full potential.
Pride Month is a celebration of Queer culture, history, and community. This community continues to struggle through waves of hate and discrimination throughout the history of our nation, including today. It is important to see the value in the contributions the LGBTQIA+ community makes to our world – and to our school.
At Thetford Academy we are committed to creating an environment that honors, respects, and celebrates diversity. We seek ways to continuously improve to be more equitable and inclusive for all students.
School Community Survey
We invite all students – and school community members more broadly – to take a short survey on LGBTQIA+ inclusion, safety, and sense of belonging on campus: Survey Here . Responses are collected anonymously and will help us develop more effective actions and resources for next school year and beyond. We acknowledge the challenges we have and want student input and feedback to help us in our efforts to ensure that school is a safe space for all.
