College Representatives Bring Their Schools to TA
September 09, 2025
Each fall, college representatives come to TA to talk with students and share an inside look at their school’s academics, campus life, and application process. These visits are a great opportunity for students to make an initial in-person contact with a school, gauge their “fit” with the school’s profile, and dive more deeply into the school’s admissions process. Attending a college representative’s event is also an important way for students to demonstrate interest in a specific school, which can support their application later on.
College visits to TA are hosted by the Counseling Office, and often include both a presentation and an opportunity for more personalized conversation. During these sessions, representatives give detailed information about various aspects of their college, including academic programs, tuition costs, financial aid options, campus facilities, and student activities. Students are invited to ask questions relevant to their own interests and goals, like the details about specific majors or scholarships, and in some cases, can get a preliminary assessment of their academic profile.
This month, Thetford Academy will welcome the following colleges and universities to campus: Emerson College, Connecticut College, Plymouth State University, Dartmouth College, St. Lawrence University, and University of Maine Farmington. Upcoming visits are noted on Thetford Academy’s school calendar, and unless otherwise specified, are hosted in the Counseling Office.
