TA Performing Arts Represents VT on the National Stage

The Thetford Academy Performing Arts Department proudly represented Vermont on the national stage at this year’s International Thespian Festival, held June 21–26 at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Recognized as the premier theatre event for high school students in the United States, the festival brought together thousands of theatre students from across the country.

Three students—Londyn Oshoniyi, Logan Wells, and 2026 graduate Natalie Perry—earned the opportunity to compete in the Thespy Awards. The students competed in the Solo Acting Monologue performance event after qualifying earlier this year at the Massachusetts Thespian Festival. Accompanying the students was their Performing Arts Teacher and Director, Jeff Seabaugh.

Competing against some of the nation’s most talented high school performers, Londyn Oshoniyi and Natalie Perry each earned Superior ratings—the highest adjudication awarded in the event—while Logan Wells received a commendable Excellent rating. Their accomplishments are a testament to their dedication, talent, and commitment to the performing arts.

Beyond the Thespy Award competition, the students immersed themselves in an unforgettable week of theatrical learning and collaboration. They participated in dance, acting, and choreography workshops taught by professional Broadway and Hollywood performers, casting directors, and choreographers, gaining valuable insight from industry professionals. They also attended an impressive lineup of student mainstage, studio, and one-act productions, including the world-premiere high school productions of the musicals Suffs and Dear Evan Hansen.

Throughout the week, the students connected and collaborated with theatre students from across the country, building friendships while celebrating their shared passion for the performing arts. The experience provided inspiration, new perspectives, and memories that will have a lasting impact on both the students and Thetford Academy’s performing arts program.
